— 3D Box Mockup and Ad Poster —
This project is a Valentine's day promotion utilizing a 3D box design. Softwares used for this project were Adobe Dimension, Fantastic Fold, and Photoshop. Using Fantastic Fold was a fun experience, even though it's still a beta version. Fantastic Fold has an animation feature that looked promising, however, it was not fully functional at the time of this project, so I decided against using it. However, I is a fantastic option for this kind of presentation purposes.
I found a free-to-use die-cut box template to base this project off of. To set up the template for use, I opened the template in Adobe Illustrator and joined all the lines into a single piece (1 for the inside, and 1 for the outside of the box) to be exported into Fantastic Fold. I then applied stock textures to both sides and applied a clipping mask to ensure that the textures would render properly in the software.
The exported SVGs were imported into Fantastic Fold. The software rendered the box according to the SVGs as a flat as in these images.
Using Fantastic Fold, I 'folded' the box, leaving it open intientionally so that I could present the cheesecake for the Valentine's day dessert promotion. After finishing the fold, I exported the 3D model and imported it into Adobe Dimension to apply lighting, shadows and reflections. And I rendered this as a PSD file in order to use it as an asset on the promotional poster.
For the poster design, I chose a pink background to match the box colour as well as create a (very) cheesy Valentine's day mood. Finally, I chose a picture with clouds in order to express the cake's soft texture to finish off the poster design.
