ICE Website Design

— Logo and Website Design —

Overview

This website design was part of a group project, creating a website for a travel agency that specialises in travel to Iceland call 'Iceland Cubed Adventures'. The project involved creating branding material, as well as initial mockups for a 2 page site, and edits according to design feedback from the rest of the team.

Moodboard

Moodboard

The process of creating a moodboard began with exploring official travel sites for Iceland, and the kind of images that they commonly used to promote travel in Iceland. After that, I picked fonts that would invoke a fun feeling for the site headers. This would be the marker font 'Permanent Marker', and supported by the 2 sans-serif fonts for easy readability as this would be an informational site.

Lastly, I created 4 logo variations. These included black and white versions so as to account for the variety in imagery that would be used, and versions with and without the company name wordmarked below.

Website Mockups BEFORE Feedback

Before Design Feedback

An initial mockup was created for the 2 page site design, using images from the moodboard. This was discussed with the team's 2 developers, who provided feedback as to the viability of the features designed within the timeframe that we had to finish this project.

Website Mockups AFTER Feedback

After Design Feedback

Once the team had given their feedback, I simplified the design features, and replaced the images with royalty-free images for the final website design. This was then handed off to the developers to be coded and subsequently put online.
